About Maureen Osborne ~ Mz Mo'z Art ~ Artist

An Artist from a young age, throughout her life Maureen has had many influential teachers. First being her mother Phyllis who gave her the love of art and expressing oneself building a strong foundation in her craft. Her experiences studying art in the Chicago suburbs, taking classes at the Art Institute of Chicago, and earning a Bachelor of Studio Art with a focus in Art History from California State University at Long Beach all speak to her dedication to her art and her commitment to expanding her knowledge and skills. Maureens focus on Art History shows a deep interest in the historical context of art and the evolution of artistic movements. Maureen's educational background has opened up many opportunities for her in the realm of art. Her ability to create art, teach art classes, and bring the stories of great art masters to life is a testament to her passion and expertise. Her art classes, both in acrylic and watercolor, provide students of all ages with a chance to explore their creativity and learn new techniques. Her ability to connect art history with hands-on art creation is a valuable skill that allows her students to gain a deeper understanding of art and its role in society.

Her approach to teaching art is unique in that she integrates art history into her lessons. By bringing the stories of great art masters to life, she inspires her students to see art not just as a skill to be learned, but as a powerful form of expression that has shaped culture throughout history. This approach helps students to develop a deeper appreciation for art and to connect with it on a personal level.

Maureen's art is a reflection of her passion for life and her love of the natural world. Her focus on acrylic on canvas, watercolor, and photography allows her to capture the beauty and serenity of the waterfront scenes that inspire her.

The genre scenes Maureen creates often depict people enjoying the simple pleasures of life, such as swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing on the beach. Her use of light and color creates a sense of warmth and tranquility, while her attention to detail brings her scenes to life.

She creates other mediums, such as pencil/mixed media drawings, word art, and sculpture, allow her to explore her creativity in different ways.

Maureen has exhibited in several shows in California and Arizona, and many works are in private collections. Her “Make Mine a Double” Sketchbook project traveled with an exhibition around the United States with stops in 8 major cities coast to coast. A past project, “Beach Postcard Project” brought together international participation to complete the work. MzMo'zArt’s Flip Flop Fun project is available via social media.
